Seersucker Summer 16

Seersucker Summer 16

Guess who going to the Delta Day Party. This Guy!!! I’m a sucker for day parties. Living in D.C. for a few years has shown me that you can party hard early and feel rested the next day. Summer is here and I’m looking forward to Rochester festivities. I have never done a Rochester day party. I definitely going to see what’s good with at least one. And this party has sundresses in the title. Sundress season is a wonderful time to be alive.

There is one problem, though. What is a seersucker?

Between google and my momma, I gathered a good idea.

Matlock

My mom laughed when I asked her about seersucker, saying that’s Matlock’s favorite suit. Once again I’m back on Google checking for Matlock’s seersucker swag.  Matty was the seersucker don. Rocking the cotton suit to stay cool whilst getting his esquire on. R.I.P. to the trendsetter Matlock.
Ahhhh Whooooo!

The OG’s probably have a closet full a seersucker and linen ready to go when called upon.

So, it is time to add a seersucker jacket to my collection. I went to Maryland for a wedding recently and on the way back up, stopped at a department store. Heading right to the men department I found 1 stripped seersucker jacket that was too big. Great. Lucky for me, in the same section there was a solid color jacket that fit. So, is seersucker defined by stripes? In this episode of – ask a man in the men’s suit section, we learn that you don’t want to ask a man in the suit section of a department store.

1st Dude: That season is over.

me: *ignores that statement* Is this seersucker?

1st Dude: I don’t know. I’m from lawn and garden.

me: *thinking – why aren’t you in your section*

…next

me: Excuse me, sir. Is this seersucker?

2nd Dude: I don’t know but do you like it?

me: Yes

2nd Dude: Then buy it.

me: *blank stare*

Back to Google and Momma.

Typically in a stripe pattern means not necessarily in a striped pattern so I think I’m good. I’m ready. I’m adhering to the dress code. Time to party on a rooftop. Seersucker Summer 16.
